Screen printing a custom t-shirt at The Print Plug in Nampa
What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a classic printing method that uses mesh screens and ink to transfer your design onto fabric. It’s great for bold, long-lasting prints—especially when you’re working with solid colors or a simple logo.

T-shirts are our most popular item, but we also screen print hoodies, jackets, tote bags, and more. Screen printing works best on cotton and cotton blends, but we’ll help you choose what’s best for your design.

We do! If sustainability is important to you, just let us know. We offer eco-friendly inks and materials that still deliver great color and durability—no compromises needed.

If you’re ordering for a group—like a team, business, or event—and your design isn’t super detailed or colorful, screen printing is probably your best bet. It’s budget-friendly, durable, and looks fantastic.

We’ve got options for that, too. Direct-to-garment, direct-to-film, and heat-transfer-vinyl printing are all great for one-off items or smaller runs. Just tell us what you’re working on, and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Our typical turnaround is 10-14 business days from the point of mock-up approval. Rush orders are available. Let us know your timeline, and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.

What is heat transfer vinyl (HTV)?

HTV is a specialty vinyl material that’s cut into your design and heat-pressed onto fabric. It’s a popular choice for bold colors, specialty finishes, and personalized or small-batch items.

Nope! We’re happy to create just one piece, and you’ll get the same care and attention as any larger order.

All you need is a general idea of what you’d like to create. We can work from your finished design or help bring your concept to life. Vector files (like .AI, .SVG, or .EPS) are ideal, but we can work with other formats too.

HTV works well on cotton, polyester, fleece, and most performance blends. If you’re not sure about a particular item, just ask—we’ll take a look and confirm whether it’s a good fit.

HTV is ideal for bold, colorful, or specialty finishes in small batches. Unlike screen printing (better for high-volume orders) or DTG (best for full-color photographic prints), HTV gives you flexibility and texture with no setup fees.

The standard turnaround for our HTV printing is 10-14 business days from design approval. Need it sooner? Let us know — we offer rush printing services (including same-day pickup!) when possible.

Absolutely. Whether you’re deciding between matte and metallic or wondering if glitter will work on your fabric, we’ll guide you through your options and help you make the best call for your project.

Yes! HTV is great for vibrant multi-color designs, and we can create smooth gradients that really pop on fabric.

Yes, we’re happy to apply HTV to garments or items you provide—just make sure they’re compatible with our heat-press process. We’ll confirm that before we begin.

For the longest life, we recommend washing items inside-out in cold water and letting them air dry. Avoid high heat and ironing directly over the design. See our Custom Garment Care page for more information.

What's the minimum order for embroidery?

None! Unlike most embroidery shops in Nampa, we’ll stitch a single item with the same care and attention as a bulk order.

Standard turnaround is 10-14 business days from mock-up approval. Need it faster? Rush services are available on most orders—just ask!

Digitizing converts your artwork into a stitch file that our machines can read. It’s a one-time setup that ensures clean lines, consistent stitching, and accurate results. Learn more about this process here.

Absolutely! Bring in your own garments, and we’ll add professional embroidery to give them new life.

Yes! We offer flat-rate shipping across the U.S., so you can get our Nampa-quality embroidery delivered right to your door.

We work with cotton, denim, fleece, polyester, leather, and more. If you’re not sure if your item will work, we’ll be happy to take a look.

Yes. We provide a free digital mock-up for approval before anything goes into production. This ensures you know exactly what to expect.

Definitely. Once your design is digitized, we can reuse it for future orders—no re-digitizing required.

What is DTG printing?

Direct-to-garment printing uses inkjet technology to print digital images directly onto fabric. It’s ideal for full-color, photo-quality designs and smaller quantities.

Nope! We’re happy to print one shirt—or one hundred. Every order gets the same care and attention.

Photographs, fine art, and colorful graphics print beautifully with DTG. It’s not ideal for solid, oversized areas of black or extremely thick fabrics.

Vector files like .AI, .SVG, or .EPS work best, but we can also work with high-resolution PNGs or JPEGs. If you’re unsure, send us what you have and we’ll take a look.

Yes—higher resolution images (300 DPI or better) produce the sharpest prints. If your file is too low-res, we’ll let you know and offer solutions before printing.

We can only print images that you have the legal right to use. If it’s copyrighted or trademarked (like a brand logo or celebrity image), we’ll need written permission.

Yes! We’re happy to print on your blank garment — as long as it’s 100% cotton or a high-cotton blend. We’ll confirm fabric compatibility before we start. Garment handling fees may apply.

Our standard turnaround is 10-14 business days from design approval. Next-day rush printing is available on many DTG orders, and we can even accomodate same-day requests — just let us know!

Yes, we always send a digital mock-up for approval to make sure your design looks just right.

Wash inside-out in cold water and hang to dry to extend the life of the print. Avoid direct heat or ironing over the design.

What is direct-to-film (DTF) printing?

DTF is a printing process where your design is printed onto a special film, coated with a heat-activated adhesive, and then transferred to fabric or other materials using a heat press. It’s ideal for full-color, high-detail designs on a wide range of surfaces.

DTF prints adhere well to cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, leather, and even non-fabric surfaces like wood or metal. If you’re unsure whether your item will work, just ask—we’ll take a look and let you know.

Nope! We’re happy to print just one item—or one hundred. DTF is perfect for short runs, personalized pieces, or one-off projects.

Most DTF orders are ready in 10-14 business days after mock-up approval. Same-day and rush service is often available — just let us know when you need your custom DTF prints, and we’ll do our best to accomodate.

Yes, as long as the material is compatible with our heat press. We’ll double-check before we begin to make sure you get great results.

Vector files like .AI, .SVG, or .EPS are ideal, but we can also work with high-resolution PNG or JPEG files. If you’re not sure what you have, send it over—we’ll take a look and let you know if it’s print-ready.

For the best results, send your artwork at 300 DPI or higher. Low-resolution files can look blurry or pixelated when printed. If your file needs adjustments, we’ll let you know before we move forward.

Wash inside-out in cold water and hang to dry for the longest-lasting results. Avoid ironing directly over the design or using high heat.

Bold, colorful graphics, logos, illustrations, and photo-based designs all print beautifully with DTF. It’s especially great for designs with fine detail or smooth color gradients.
